Additional Research England funding

Responding to the announcement of additional funding from , Dr Tim Bradshaw, Chief Executive of the 香港宝典免费资料大全, said:

鈥淭he extra 拢70 million in research funding is good news. It will help create opportunities for research-intensive universities to develop new partnerships and projects supporting high quality research and the Government鈥檚 Industrial Strategy.

鈥溝愀郾Φ涿夥炎柿洗笕 universities train more than half of all postgraduate research students at UK universities 鈥 a vital source of skills for the UK鈥檚 innovation economy and future research talent pool. The additional support provided through the postgraduate research degree supervision element of QR funding is therefore very welcome. It will ensure our universities can continue to provide high-quality training to underpin the skilled workforce needs of UK universities and businesses for the future.

鈥溝愀郾Φ涿夥炎柿洗笕 universities work with hundreds of charities every year, conducting research into everything from environmental protection to ways of diagnosing cancer early. 聽The extra support announced for this partnership work will mean UK universities can bid for additional charity funding that might otherwise go overseas.

鈥淚n addition, the increase in Higher Education Innovation Funding (HEIF) in England is key to helping universities deliver one of the central aims of the industrial strategy by enhancing their links with businesses to drive innovation and boost commercialisation of research. We hope this will now be followed by similar investments across the rest of the UK.鈥
