The Government today in Doctoral Training Partnerships, and a further £8.9m to boost the uptake of science subjects at school. It also announced the first Stephen Hawking Fellows who will receive 4-year's funding for theoretical physics research and public engagement. The newly announced researchers are all based at ��۱���������ϴ�ȫ universities. The announcement coincides with the start of .

Commenting, Stephanie Smith, Head of Policy (Research and International) at the ��۱���������ϴ�ȫ said:

“Businesses, universities and the public sector alike need access to a wider pool of quality research talent. This £179m investment is a serious statement of intent from the Government that will help boost science in every nation and region of the UK. ��

“We want to make��Global Britain��the best place for postgraduate research training, strengthening our position as an��internationally competitive��research superpower and laying the foundations for future R&D-led growth. If we want to achieve this goal, research training programmes need to be funded sustainably and we hope to see the Chancellor build on this positive announcement at the Budget next week.”
