Protecting the quality of higher education with a sustainable funding formula and ensuring students from disadvantaged backgrounds are not unfairly impacted by proposals for minimum entry requirements or student number controls are priorities for any reforms of the university sector, the Ïã¸Û±¦µäÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« has said.
In its response to the , which was launched in February 2022, the Ïã¸Û±¦µäÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« has also warned that reducing fee levels for foundation year courses could inadvertently lead to these kinds of courses becoming unviable, putting an important route into university for thousands of students at risk. It has also welcomed proposals for a national scholarship scheme.Ìý
